Rovers are facing a few nervy days before heading into a crucial double header with West Brom and Bolton with five players facing a race against time to be fit.

In an ideal world the full compliment of Gael Givet, Jason Lowe, Michel Salgado, Martin Olsson and Junior Hoilett would be fit and ready for what will prove to be a decisive time in the season but the bare facts are that ALL of them could be missing.

Rovers released a statement yesterday morning updating fans on the current injury influx at the club.

‘Gael Givet and Jason Lowe will undergo further checks over the next few days after being taken off in Sunday’s defeat at Sunderland’ read a statement released on the club’s official website.

‘Both players, who suffered chest and head problems respectively, travelled back with the team after the game.

‘Michel Salgado (ribs), Martin Olsson (hamstring) and Junior Hoilett (hamstring) will report into the Senior Training Centre for further treatment.’

It looks to be defence where the main problems lie, especially with a lack of a dedicated left back.
