Blackburn’s Championship season continued with a draw against Burton at Ewood Park on Saturday.

Owen Coyle collected his first point at Blackburn boss but with a lead twice lost, including a late second equaliser, Rovers had to settle for a two-two draw with Burton.

Midway through the first half Conway’s 25-yard effort went in via the crossbar to put Blackburn ahead but a couple of minutes before the break Burton were level when Irvine headed in.

The lead was restored once again when Southampton loanee Gallagher marked his first start to head home a Conway corner but once again, two-minutes from the end of the half, Blackburn were pegged back when Naylor, who had already hit the crossbar, scored to see this first even meeting end in a draw.

Academy product Wharton was given his Blackburn debut by Coyle in this match too but Rovers remain bottom and without a win.

Here’s a round up of the Championship action from the other matches played, with one still to take place.

Leeds and Wolves both went to rival clubs, in the shape of Sheffield Wednesday and Birmingham (respectively) and came away with the points. Leeds winning two-nil at Hillsborough and Wolves three-one at St Andrew’s, with the Wolves win maintaining Walter Zenga’s unbeaten start at the club.

A first point was collected by Blackburn but they had to be content with a two-two draw at Ewood Park against Burton with Brighton’s goalscoring form of late continuing but they too had to be content with a two-all draw at Reading.

Newcastle’s win in midweek was followed up with another win after a one-nil win at Bristol City with Huddersfield (who beat Newcastle recently) continuing to go along nicely with a two-one win over Barnsley.

Among the goals once again, as they ended a losing run, were Nottingham Forest who were involved in a second four-three win of the season already when beating Wigan at the City Ground.

Collecting a first league win were Preston (two-nil) when they came away from Loftus Road having inflicted another defeat on QPR.
