Blackburn’s Championship season continued with a defeat against Leeds at Elland Road on Tuesday.

Another away point, which would have followed the weekend draw at QPR, looked to be coming Blackburn’s way until a late Leeds winner to give them a two-one win and a first win since April at Elland Road.

Leeds took the lead through Wood when the substitute was left with a simple finish from a Sacko cross midway through the second half.

Swansea loanee Emnes, facing his former boss, came off the bench to make his debut with an equaliser with 13-minutes left but Blackburn were beaten again and sit bottom of the table when Bartley won it four-minutes from time.

Here’s a round up of the Championship action from the other matches played, with some still to take place.

Aston Villa v Brentford 19:45
Rotherham v Nottm Forest 19:45

After successive defeats Brighton returned to winning ways with a one-nil win at Huddersfield, who still lead the table despite this defeat that saw and unbeaten run going into this match ended at the Amex Stadium.

This slip up saw Newcastle close the gap at the top to a point with an emphatic six-nil win at Loftus Road against QPR.

Derby’s start hasn’t been at all what would have been expected under Nigel Pearson with another loss suffered, this time Ipswich went away from the iPro with the points after a one-nil win.

Struggling Leeds and Blackburn met at Elland Road with the home side collecting the points, a two-one defeat for Rovers leaves them without a win under Owen Coyle in the Championship with Cardiff’s own struggles continuing with Preston running out three-nil winners at Deepdale.

Barnsley have been a real surprise package since coming up from League 1 via the play-offs last season with that impressive form continuing with a four-nil win secured over Wolves at Molineux.
