The Samba mystery deepens

Rovers are in a bit of a conundrum this morning with all eyes on the Brockhall training room door to see if the captain returns today.

The rumour is that big Chris Samba is planning to go on strike in a bid to force a move to another club after becoming tired of the lack of progress being made at Ewood Park.

This comes after he texted in ill complaining of stomach cramps on Friday afternoon and he missed the impressive 3-1 win over Fulham which only further fuelled the rumour mongers.

It’s all up in the air and it could go one of two ways…

One thing that is not in doubt is that Samba is up for a move.

The Daily Mail is reporting – ‘Rovers have already rejected a £6.5million bid from QPR, and Samba thinks that is a reasonable figure (No it’s not) considering he cost only £450,000 from Hertha Berlin five years ago.

Paris Saint-Germain and Tottenham have also shown interest but the big Congo centre back is concerned they will be put off by a valuation of £12-14m. (What he’s actually worth)’

Kean himself was pretty sure that the big man had not pulled a sickie and told the same paper – ‘I don`t think he`s thrown one in. I can totally understand (why people might ask questions). He`s not for sale, it`s as simple as that.’

‘I`d like to have spoken to him on Friday morning but he texted in that he was having severe stomach cramps. He texted again on Saturday morning that he was too weak to play.

‘We`ll make sure he gets the proper medication to get over a nasty bug and, hopefully, he will be back in on Monday or Tuesday.’

So he’s either innocently ill and it’s all a big coincidence. Or he can shove that ‘I’ve been professional’ talk that he was spouting to L’Equipe the other day where the sun doesn’t shine.
