Three Young Rovers Depart On Loan

Blackburn Rovers allowed three youngsters to leave Ewood Park in loan moves to Football League clubs last week.

Gavin Gunning joined Rotherham on a one-month loan deal. The 19-year-old played for Rotherham manager Ronnie Moore at Tranmere Rovers (also on loan) last season I think?

League Two leaders Rochdale then signed Andrew Haworth on loan until the end of the season. The 21-year-old should get plenty of first-team football under his belt at Spotland.

Before the week was out Rotherham returned to borrow another player from us when Marcus Marshall joined the League Two side on loan for a month.

Gunning, Haworth and Marshall will all benefit from the time they spend away during their loan spells, however, personally I’m not sure that any of them will ever make a regular first-team breakthrough at Ewood Park??
