Ex-Blackburn captain Andy Todd is near the end of his stay here. He will be sold for the amount Blackburn deem needed and Andy and his pain in the backside agent Peter Harrison are aware of this too and agree it is best for everyone.

Todd’s agent Peter Harrison told BBC Sport: ‘Andy has spoken with Mark Hughes and, if the deal suits everyone concerned, he will be on his way out.

‘He won’t go for free as there is a year left on his contract but a couple of clubs are already interested.’

Todd is currently on holiday but Harrison expects a deal to be done soon after he returns, with pre-season training not far away.

Harrison added: ‘I don’t think there have been any concrete offers for Andy as of yet but he isn’t in the country at the moment.

‘We’ll see what happens over the next few days but I would definitely expect developments within two weeks.’

Rangers were rumoured to be interested in Todd earlier this year and Harrison says the player has not ruled out moving away from the Premier League.

‘Hopefully Andy will be staying in the Premier League, that would be ideal, but there are some good clubs in the Championship too,’ stated Harrison.

‘Rangers and a couple of Premier League clubs were keen on Andy in January but Mark Hughes wanted to keep him to help the push for Europe.

‘Right now, Andy is at the stage where he needs to be playing regular first-team football and hopefully we can sort that out.’

I for one would like to thank Andy for his efforts, there was a point when he was a strong, dependable and Premiership standard Centre Back… but this has been and gone due to his age.

I wish him the best for the future and hope we’ll be seeing him again soon.
