3 goals in the space of 6 second half minutes provided Liverpool with a much needed win against a lacklustre Blackburn Rovers outfit

Rovers were forced into a reshuffle, with Samba and Nelsen replaced by Jones and Givet in Central Defence.

With both teams struggling in the league, a tight encounter was expected, however, it was anything far. Liverpool dominated, from start to finish, with only the efforts of Paul Robinson, and a deflectd goal for Diouf keeping Rovers within sights of a point….

It was all Red from the outset, Gerrard, Torres, Joe Cole and Kyrgiakos deciding to find some form, running the Rovers defence ragged. Meirless was first to try his luck, blazing wide, whilst Joe Coles strike was amazingly saved by Robinson.

Liverpool continued to apply the pressure, Robinson denying Gerrard from point blank range. Rovers offered little in attack, with Diouf being the main threat, and Gamst wasting every set piece. Jones made a desperate intervention to prevent Torres getting through, Roy Hodgson in disbelief at how it was 0-0 at the break….

The second half saw the game explode. A Gerrard corner found Kyrgiakos, his powerful header finding the net after Olsson couldnt clear of the line. 1-0 Liverpool

Rovers though hit back immediately, a Benjani run found Diouf free, his shot striking Carragher and into the net 1-1. Though it was not even for long. Gerrard found Cole who released Torres, scoring yet again against Blackurn. 2-1

Then it all went quiet until Hoillet came on for Dunn, turning it into a 4-4-2. All that meant was Blackburn had another man up front when the ball was sent 80 yards up field……

Rovers couldnt find an equalise whils Liverpool did enough to hang on to the win
