Place of Birth: Liverpool, England (Its not his fault…)

Career

Scott Dann signed his first professional contract at Walsall in 2003. An impressive few seasons saw Walsall promoted as Division 2 champions, with Dann earning himself a bumper 3 year contract. However, it wasn’t enough to stop big spenders Coventry snaring the Young English man for a fee rumoured to be 1 million pounds in 2008.

It is at Coventry where Dann first linked with Steve Kean, building a relationship which brings him to where he is today. Dann was appointed captain for the 2008-09 season, and also earned his first cap for the English Under 21 outfit.

2009 saw Dann step into the big league, with Birmingham City breaking their club record for a defender, snaring the Centre Back for a price in the region of 3.5 Million pounds. Building a solid partnership with the more experienced Roger Johnson, Dann started to build his reputation as a strong, determined centre half, and the big boys started looking, with Liverpool and Arsenal both interested in the Englishman.

However, it was Blackburn Rovers who snatched the signing on deadline day, a rumoured fee of 5 million pounds enough to sway Birmingham City to let go of their prized asset, providing Blackburn with a solid replacement for the departured Phil Jones.

Welcome to Ewood Park Mr Dann!
