Transfer Deadline Day

They really should declare a bank holiday for these landmark days shouldn’t they?

It’s the last day of the transfer window before it closes shut until the summer and most clubs are looking to strengthen and make changes to their current squad make up.

For Rovers it should represent a day of change with several faces due to be leaving us for pastures new and to free up some room on that bloated wage bill of ours.

And hopefully we’ll see one or two additions ahead of a push towards the top of the league table.

First up Paul Robinson is all set to leave the club for West ham with reserve keeper Stephen Henderson heading back to us in the form of a straight swap.

Simon Vukcevic, rated by fans but not by managers, is due to head out on loan to APOEL Nicosia in Cyprus with Diogo Rosado also frantically searching for a club to play game sta with his Benfica loan move hitting a snag.

Blackpool have been linked with a loan move for David Goodwillie, as have Sheffield Wednesday.

Elsewhere could see similar moves for the likes of Nuno Henrqiue and Paulo Jorge, but nothing has been forthcoming yet.

There could even be room for Gael Givet to move back to France (again on loan – it’s loan day apparently) if a replacement can be found for the pay rise craving bearded Frenchman.

On the incoming front it’s all been kept relatively hush hush, for a refreshing change, with the only rumours coming in the form of Blackpool’s Alex Baptiste and Barnsley’s Scott Wiseman.

There is a list of players that Michael Appleton has admitted he would look to bring in from but which of those end up coming to fruition we can’t be sure.

So strap yourself in – a day of frustration and expectation awaits.
