Blackburn Rovers winger Keith Treacy already has intentions to stay on loan with Sheffield United for longer than the initial period planned.

Sheffield United signed Treacy on loan until January last week but the Irish youngster is already targeting a longer stay with the Championship side.

Treacy told the Official Sheffield United Website: “I didn’t need much persuading to come here, it is a Premier League club in my eyes.

“It’s for six months initially but I’m looking at it being longer. I need to be playing, getting match fitness and hopefully I can impress here.

The Republic of Ireland Under-21 International has had a superb reputation at Ewood Park but didn’t really delivery as was expected last season when he broke through and some speculation was linking the winger with a permanent exit from Rovers.

A loan move to Bramall Lane will be a good thing as this gives Treacy the chance to play regular first team football and develop his game, however, the drawback to this is the fact that Treacy’s already sounding like he’s going to enjoy his loan so might not be so keen to return??
