Blackburn legend Tugay look likely to announce his retirement from the game at some point before the end of the season.

Various media outlets say the veteran 38-year-old had talks with Blackburn boss Sam Allardyce about his future last week before the game against Wigan.

There apparently was a frank discussion about the ageing legs of the maestro and the even more limited role he would fill given his years.

A Rovers source, speaking to the Sun newspaper said – “Sam and Tugay had a chat and came to a mutual agreement that it was time to call it a day.”

Whilst this is merely a preliminary report, it still holds some weight and has echoed what a lot of fans thought might happen.

If it is true then the last home game against West Brom could prove to be his last.

If that is the case he can expect the mother of all receptions from the Ewood Park crowd for delivering so many good memories over the years and many a classic goal.

A Blackburn legend and a dedicated club man.

Tugay, you are my Turkish delight…
