Holland midfielder Ugur Yildirim has been released by Sivasspor, with the player linked with a free move to the Rovers over the last few days.

Rovers offered the 26-year-old, who has a solitary Holland cap, an opportunity to impress at Ewood Park earlier in the week and now rumours of a move will strengthen after the player was released by his club. he had only moved to Sivasspor in Turkey in January.

Earlier this week, John Williams had stated Rovers would not be adding to the squad till January, but an exception will be made if Yildirim impresses. Numerous VBer’s have stated on this site that the player has talent.

Why should we pass up on it if he is good enough? He will only end up at another club and we would miss out.

The Sivasspor manager confirmed the player was on our radar after making this statement to a Turkisk press conference :

‘Ugur is a great player, be he doesn’t fit in out 4-3-2-1 formation, Ugur asked us to terminate his deal and we agreed to do so, meaning that he’s a free agent now. Blackburn are after his signature and I think that’s a good club for him.’

Sounds promising.
