Reports in the Sun are again linking Blackburn with a move for Giles Barnes, having been mentioned in connection with him in the summer.

Barnes, who played under Owen Coyle when the Blackburn boss was in charge of Houston Dynamo, made his name at Derby with him presently at MLS club Vancouver Whitecaps. It has been claimed a move by Rovers was made for the forward in the summer but despite this deal being ‘really close’ it didn’t go through.

With the 28-year-old, who I recall was highly rated at Derby with him eventually moving on to West Brom but this wasn’t a move that worked out and he spent time with Doncaster before going to America and eventually working with Coyle, ready to return to England according to this report a renewed move will be made for Barnes in January?

This is a move it is thought will go through this time! But would he be right for Blackburn if he did arrive.
