Looks like the newspapers have some explaining to do after Anurhada Desai released a statement this afternoon in full backing of under fire Rovers boss Steve Kean.

It has been widely speculated in the last few days since the 3-2 defeat to Fulham that Kean’s days as Rovers boss were numbered but Desai has moved to quash such talk with a strong denial.

In an official statement Mrs Desai spoke on Rovers Official Website – ‘I do not know the source of these rumours but I would like to clarify there is absolutely no truth in these reports.

‘I would like to put on record that we have a contract with Steve Kean and he will continue in his present position with the club. There is no question of the manager being changed.’

  • totally agree with Rover23,glen9mullan nothing more to add really, think i have said all i can on the matter over last couple of weeks my god we play shocking ley bad football

  • surely there are some positives to be gained from this… a little stability, 2 weeks to work on the game and then its cruch time. truthfully, the two week break will be painful but might be just what we need… and with a strong statement like this, the players can be a bit more settled and get on with it

  • What we have to consider is that if Kean goes who will replace him – will they be any better – if someone comes in will they need time to change tactics etc and will that just unsettel everything – OR is changing things just what we need? If we fail against Blackpool then who knows what will happen.
