Blackburn were beaten 2-0 by Barnsley in the Championship on Boxing Day.

There wasn’t much Christmas cheer for Blackburn at Barnsley as we a fourth straight win – including a sending off for Darragh Lenihan – leaving Rovers very much in the bottom three.

Sam Winnall headed in a cross from Conor Hourihane to put Barnsley into an early lead.

Blackburn keeper Jason Steele managed to keep us in the game with the likes of Marvin Emnes, Wes Brown and Sam Gallagher denied equaliser for Rovers by his opposite number Adam Davies.

However, when Lenihan was sent off late for a challenge on Sam Morsy it made a tough job even harder – in added time Barnsley sealed a fourth win in their last five through Marley Watkins.
