Carlos Villanueva was the man for the reserves again as his double sunk Man City reserves. Rovers won 2-1 against City at the Regional Sports Arena last night.

A penalty and a lcassy finish were the difference as a young Rovers side triumphed. A dynamic line up that included Alex Marrow as well as first team fringe players Keith Treacy and Danny Simpson were always the stronger side as the second string made their claim for a regular starting spot.

Carlos Villanueva put Rovers ahead early on before a Phil Jones own goal levelled the scores. Villanueva scored the winner from the penalty spot in the 76th minute.

It surely can’t be long before Carlos is seen out and about the for the first team.
