After victory for Rovers v Man City, the natural thing to do would be to interview Sven. Well we havent got him but Mikey Gamst’s Man City supporting brother is the next best thing!

This is an interview in the aftermath of yesterday’s game between Blackburn and Manchester City, a typically fiery encounter ended 1-0 to the home side and there were of course quite a few talking points as there always seems to be with Blackburn games nowadays!!!!

Anyway, last night I got together with my younger brother Jonny, 22, to ask a few questions regarding the game. Jonny was in attendance in the Darwen End with the Man City faitful. And with the permission of our fearless leader Hughes Da Man, I can now bring you the interview in full….

First off Jonny, can I just say what a delight you were round the dinner table this evening, you always take defeat well…

So I see your still not mastering the graceful winner bit yet Mike, I’ll give it to you that you deserved to win though.

Fair enough! Couldn’t resist! What did you make of the City performance?

We started off well and were dominating up until the goal but after that Blackburn were much the better team and could of had many more. On the whole City played very pretty football but there wasnt much end product.

Where do you see City ending up this season after 38 games?

I think realistically we will finish 10th but maybe if our players gel and gain a tough element to their play we could expect higher, only time will tell I guess but I am a lot more positive now than I was at kick off on the first day of the season.

What do you make of the notion that Blackburn are a dirty team who are ‘hackers’?

Blackburn certainly are one of the rougher teams in the League and the disciplinary record of the last few years show that. I am sorry bro but it is true.

On the other hand though some of the bookings that Blackburn pick up are ridiculous, the referees target some of the Rovers players and get them booked early to ‘control’ them, its stupid but I must say I don’t care really!!!! lol.

Any Blackburn players in particular you were impressed with?

I must say Dave Bentley was excellent. His crossing at times is emmaculate and I am sure he is the reason Hughes took the gamble and signed your beloved Roque Santa Cruz. He will feed of those crosses all season.

At the back people rave about that big Samba lad, but Nelsen is more important, he is the calming influence that all top sides need. He is the perfect choice of captain.

I also think McCarthy is the African Michael Owen… does bugger all most of the time but is always in the right place when you need him.

And finally chief, make Hughes Da Man’s day and tell us what you think of Matt Derbyshire?

I think he is not the finished article yet, but he has pace, a cracking attitude and an eye for goal that not many English forwards have.He could be the next big thing.

Let me be the first to say thank you to my brother Jonny for his comments. I hope this will be a good read for all, as usual not all will agree but in true Mikey family style, we wouldnt want that anyway!!!
