Norwich, who saw their very slim play-off chances ended over Easter, will look to prevent already promoted Brighton from securing the Championship title – victory for Albion at Carrow Road would confirm them as champions.

If Brentford can further improve their home form with a West London derby win over QPR on Saturday – the R’s have lost five in a row – the Bees could move into the top-10, potentially as high as eighth.

A Bristol City win over Barnsley at Ashton Gate could secure Championship safety should Blackburn lose. The Robins, unbeaten in three will be assured survival if a seven point lead were opened up over Rovers – first and foremost Lee Johnson will take the points against his former side, which the Tykes aren’t going to make easy.

Burton are another side who could be safe from relegation come 5pm on Saturday evening if the Brewers can beat Leeds and Blackburn’s result goes for them. However, having dropped out of the top-six last time round the Whites, seventh, will be determined to keep their play-off bid on track.

Huddersfield could move to within four points of second-placed Newcastle with a win over Fulham, more importantly Town would close on a confirmed play-off spot at least. Leeds will want a favour from their Yorkshire rivals as a Whites win at the John Smith’s Stadium and they’ll stay above them – depending on Sheffield Wednesday’s result, outside of the top-six.

Three defeats in four has seen Nottingham Forest dragged very much back into the relegation dogfight. Should Forest fail to claim all three points against promotion chasing Reading, who would close to within three points of Newcastle, second, with a win at the City Ground, they could slip into the bottom-three.

Rotherham’s improved Easter form couldn’t bring anymore than a point for the already relegated Millers – they play host to Ipswich who are looking for a third straight win that could yet bring a top-10 finish.

If Sheffield Wednesday, fifth, can extend their unbeaten run to six with a fifth straight win the Owls will remain in the top-six in their current place at least, potentially a place higher. Derby’s outside hopes of a play-off finish are over with the Rams’ highest finishing spot now eighth.

Wigan could be officially relegated if they suffer an 11th defeat of the season in the visit of Cardiff to the DW Stadium – a Latics win and they could be within two points of safety with three to play? A Bluebirds third win in four could take them up to 11th-place.

Having officially confirmed Championship safety over Easter Wolves, after successive defeats, could all but confirm Blackburn’s relegation if Paul Lambert can lead his current side to victory over Rovers and other results go against them. A win for the visitors though and they could climb above Nottingham Forest and Birmingham outside of the bottom-three should their relegation rivals.

Aston Villa could push Midland rivals Birmingham closer to relegation if they can secure a first win in four. The Blues could find themselves inside the bottom-three by the time Harry Redknapp oversees the first of what could be three games only in charge?

Newcastle have to wait until Monday to face Preston. The title could already be out of reach for the Magpies who are merely looking to confirm automatic promotion after a wobble. A third defeat in four against North End – who have lost their last three to end play-off hopes – could lead to a very nervy final two games?

It goes without saying the expectation; most definitely the hope at least, will be for a positive result. But will this happen? We’ll find out soon enough.

Ahead of the game we’re looking for your views on what way you think it will go, which requires you to vote in the latest poll in one of the options you have been given.

However, don’t just look also have a say. We don’t just want your vote, which you can do to the right, we also want some thoughts and views ahead of the game as well so share these below.
