Blackburn could move back into the automatic promotion places, ahead of second place Shrewsbury, if struggling Walsall are seen off at Ewood Park.
If the points are secured Rovers could also move to within a point of leaders Wigan, assuming the Latics were themselves beaten at second bottom Rochdale, who desperately need to collect some points in their battle to avoid relegation.
