Blackburn’s Championship season continued with a draw at Ewood Park against Bolton on Friday in the live Sky Sports game.

The point will suit Bolton much more than it will Blackburn, however a nil-nil draw leaves both sides without a win so far this season heading into the international break.

A game, which didn’t have too many chances, saw Blackburn, which you would expect as the home side the more adventurous side looking for all three-points but neither ‘keeper were really test throughout.

The returning Rhodes head some half chances over as did Duffy, up for several set pieces, with Rovers having the ball in the net with Rhodes’ knock down for Koita, who was brought off the bench in the second half, having his goal disallowed for offside.

Prior to this Koita sliced wildly wide as he followed up an effort clear off the line with Blackburn thankful to Duffy for doing likewise to deny veteran Heskey who looked certain to score when Raya could only shovel the ball out to him.

Bolton ended with 10-men when Dervite saw red in injury-time for his second bookable offence but it made no difference.

  • It was a game sadly lacking in quality by either side. I can’t recall any passage of play where we passed the ball well. Total absence of creativity in midfield meant we were reduced to long hopeful balls. Lets hope they use international break to work on some of the fundamental skills!
