Blackburn’s Championship season continued with a draw at Ewood Park against Derby on Wednesday.

Another cleansheet was kept by Blackburn, which has become a familiar theme at home recently, but with Rovers unable to force a breakthrough against Derby, who don’t often draw a blank, this ended in a nil-nil draw.

There weren’t too many chances in the first half, or the match as a whole really, with Ince forcing Blackburn ‘keeper Steele to make a good save when the son of former Rovers boss Paul Ince tried his luck from distance.

It wasn’t until late in the first half the game actually sprung to life when Blackburn midfielder Akpan went down, holding his face, following an off the ball clash with Johnson, which brought about ‘a flurry’ of yellow cards….

Derby’s former England ‘keeper Carson was called into action in the second half by Leicester loanee Lawrence with his effort saved.

Evans, at the end of a good Blackburn move, will know he could, and should, have done better with his effort but the Northern Irishman couldn’t work Carson as he wasn’t even able to hit the target with him putting the chance over.

Seeking a winner Derby turned to Bent but the former England striker’s impact was minimal. In actually fact is was O’Sullivan, who came off the Blackburn bench; that could have had the telling contribution!

His effort deflected off Derby’s Keogh, which might have diverted it away from Carson, but from his point of view but unfortunately from a Rovers one it went straight too the ‘keeper.

A fifth-match without defeat at Ewood, even though Rovers couldn’t breakthrough themselves, is a positive thing and against a side like Derby, who have failed to score in only two of their 11-matches before this one, isn’t a bad thing is it!
