Blackburn’s disappointing start to the Championship season continued with a defeat at the Amex Stadium against Brighton on Saturday.

Having had chances to take the lead, when they weren’t taken a LuaLua goal in the first half was enough to condemn Blackburn to another defeat, with this one-nil setback seeing Rovers drop into the bottom three.

The kick-off at the Amex Stadium delayed due to the tragic plane crash at the Shoreham Airshow, which puts things into perspective, and ALL of our thoughts are with those tragically killed in this and those impacted by it….

It was a positive start to the game by Blackburn with Koita, who as expected was fit enough to play despite being forced off in the midweek draw with Cardiff, and Conway, who feels he can get double figures for the season, both denied by saves from Brighton ‘keeper Stockdale.

The goal, arguably against the run of play, came when Brighton’s former Newcastle winger LuaLua (35) beat ‘keeper Raya into his top corner and put Albion one-up ahead of half time.

Blackburn could, possibly should, have been level in the second half when Delfouneso, put through on goal, missed the chance to score his latest Rovers goal. Former England squad member Stockdale denied the Rovers man once more, who will know he should have done better.

The best chance of all for Rovers, as they had against Cardiff in midweek, to grab an equaliser came in the last minute but Duffy headed over from just six-yards!
