Blackburn’s Championship season continued with another defeat at Craven Cottage against Fulham on Sunday.

A return from the international break saw Blackburn in front of the Sky Sports cameras once again but, unlike Bolton prior to this with that ending in a nil-nil draw, this ended with Rovers losing in somewhat unfortunate and controversial circumstances two-one at Fulham.

Two first half goals from McCormack and Dembele saw Rhodes reduce the deficit with a goal that wasn’t a goal, from Hanley, denying Rovers at least a point….

Ross McCormack (4) got Fulham off to a great start when he was left with just Steele to beat after a swift break saw Dembele put him in.

On the half hour, after Steele had made a double safe to deny former Blackburn loanee Tunnicliffe and Rovers midfielder Cairney with the follow up Dembele (30) got on the scoresheet himself with it a case of ‘third time lucky!’ The ‘keeper wasn’t able to keep out the third effort as he finished into the roof of the net.

Before the break Fulham ‘keeper Lonergan made a fine save to keep out Marshall’s header with Rhodes (68), after he had been fouled himself by Husband, finally getting Blackburn back into the game from the penalty spot having already hit the post and headed over when well placed!

An equaliser looked as though it had gone Blackburn’s way with Hanley’s effort clearly over the line before O’Hara ‘cleared it’ to safety but Rovers weren’t given it with the referees assistant unmoved and no ‘video replays’ in the Championship either.

Blackburn’s last throw chance came in injury time but Koita struck the post when well placed….
