Blackburn’s Championship season continued with a draw at the KC Stadium against Hull on Saturday.

A defeat was something Blackburn were looking likely to face against at Hull after Hernandez had given the home side the lead until an injury-time goal from Rhodes meant Rovers came away with a one-one draw.

Hull could have been ahead early on when Hernandez, from a tight angle, decided to shoot with this effort saved by Blackburn ‘keeper Steele with Elmohamady better placed to be left with a near certain goal!

Blackburn’s best chances, as they usually do, both fell to Rhodes but he couldn’t take either as he headed wide with one effort and the other was kept out by Hull ‘keeper, and Scottish international – when selected! – teammate, McGregor.

The second half could have seen Hull ahead with both Akpom and Huddlestone going close but it wasn’t until the final 15-minutes approached that Hernandez (73), after Blackburn had been appealing a foul on Rhodes, finished a counter attack to tap in a cross from Elmohamady from six-yards.

Akpom, gain, and Maguire both had chances to secure the points, both from close range but neither could hit the target to leave Blackburn with hope.

Those misses, with the possession that Hull had too, were punished by Blackburn when Rhodes (90) headed home a Conway corner in injury-time to earn an unlikely point!
