The League One season continued with the latest round of games played during midweek.

Gillingham’s draw at Wimbledon wasn’t enough to prevent them from slipping to the bottom of the league – the case due to the fact Oldham collected a first win of the campaign when overcoming Bristol Rovers in a five goal thriller at the Memorial Stadium.

A first win if three for Wigan got Paul Cook’s side back on track at Charlton, who were beaten for the first time in five.

Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink made it successive wins as Northampton boss when the Dutchman led the Cobblers to a home win over Portsmouth, which took them out of the bottom four.

Having suffered a first defeat of the season at the weekend – beaten by Bradford, who rescued a point at Oxford – Peterborough recovered to win at London Road against MK Dons.

Plymouth’s tough start to life back in League One continued when Argyle were beaten at Home Park by Blackpool, now up to fifth. The Pilgrims dropped down to second bottom following this fourth defeat in a row.

Like Oldham, Rochdale hadn’t won this season until they surprised Doncaster at Spotland.

The most emphatic win of the night came at the New York Stadium when Rotherham crushed Walsall 5-1. Meanwhile, Blackburn, making it four in a row, won at Scunthorpe with leaders Shrewsbury retaining top spot with a victory over Southend.

Here’s a round-up of the League One results.
