Blackburn defender Stephen Warnock admits the club will find it difficult to replace Roque Santa Cruz.

The Paraguay international is again subject to a bid from Man City and Spurs are also interested. The smart money however is a move to City and this move could happen really soon if reports are to be believed.

Warnock feels that the only solution is for Sam to work his old magic and pull in the bargains.

Warnock, speaking to Sky Sports said – ‘It is going to be difficult to keep Roque,’

‘He has stated he wants a new challenge where he could possibly play Champions League and he has more than proved himself in the Premier League.

‘He is a player I admire tremendously and I think he is a fantastic player.

‘As to how much, if he is sold we just have to wait and see, Mark Hughes did a great job of finding bargain players but it is very hard to keep on doing that.’

In an interesting little side note, Stephen feels the club should be pushing for Europe next season.

He continued – ‘We have got to be looking to push on for Europe, our form in the second-half of the season showed that,’

Anyone doubting Warnock’s commitment to the cause here at Rovers should pay attention to that last comment.
