Paul Lambert’s not only seeking clarification on financial maters at Blackburn he’s also got fitness concerns over Tony Watt.

He’s now being ‘assessed’ by the medical team with a full diagnoses then being know as to the full extend of his injury, which was picked up in the defeat to Lancashire rivals Preston on Saturday.

Watt, from the high of making his Scotland debut, suffered the low of coming off within minutes of the two-one defeat to Preston at Ewood Park on Saturday.

The Charlton loanee lasted five-minutes or so before he had to come off with Lambert telling

‘We think it is his groin, so we’ll have to wait and see how that is. We’ll see how he is on Sunday, but when somebody comes off with a groin problem it can actually be worse than what you think. But we’ll have to see how he is.’

I think the worry would now be we’ll do well to see much more of him this season? If he played again now with it only a matter of weeks now before the campaign ends and we could be talking as long for him to be out?

Watt’s loan deal does, as we know, come with ‘the option to buy’; if this option is still a viable one given the latest debts revealed only time will tell….

Fingers will be firmly crossed for positive injury news on the forward though!
