Weekends Winners And Losers

I am glad the Premier League is back. Saturdays are exciting again (sorry babe) and we get to cheer on the boys. I know 1-1 wasn’t what we expected but I think we would of all taken 4 points out of 6 before the season started.

Anyway, moving on. Lets see which 3 guys made the winners slot this week and who didn’t fare so well.

This week in the winners…

WINNERS –

JASON ROBERTS –
Strong, powerful, energetic and was the only constant source of danger against Hull City… basically everything that Benni Mac isn’t at the moment.

J-Rob in the past has been labelled as having a poor touch and not being able to finish, the finishing one to an extent I still agree with.

However performances like this will only help his cause.

Last season he looked like he was on his way out of Ewood Park… now even he admits that would of been a mistake.

RYAN NELSEN –I’ll keep this one short and sweet, for the second week running he was the best Rovers defender on show by a mile.

DAVID DUNN –Again I’ll keep this short and sweet, he did more in 45 minutes than any other midfielder (on either side) did in 90.

LOSERS –

BENNI MAC –
He looked over weight on Saturday guys. He looked disinterested to a point as well. I know he wants to start every game and he is a great technical player but the fans want more…

They want to see passion, they want to see desire and most importantly, they want to see goals from the striker.

For those reasons alone, I am completely lost as to why Matt Derbyshire wasn’t used as the three things mentioned above that fans want Matt Derbyshire possesses and is willing to give.

Benni, step up to the plate son, this is when we find out what you are all about.

STEVEN REID – He just looked a little lost. His movement was ok but we know that Reidy can take people on and beat them and he didn’t look like he had the confidence to do it.

He needs to believe in himself a bit more because despite what Bom Bom says about him he has it in him. IF you are on the right of midfield you have to offer more than just an easy ball inside.

When you are the holding midfielder it is fine but I have seen Reidy pass a ball a lot in his time at Ewood Park and he has one hell of a pass on him. Don’t be afraid to make a mistake.

Come on Stevie, prove me right.

JOHAN VOGEL – Nowhere to be seen for 2 games, not even on the bench.

I am not sure what he is doing wrong in training but that isn’t a good sign.

Thats it for this week guys. Hope you are looking forward to this week.

As we have 2 games we will have 2 W & L features this week.

Feedback is always good. Don’t be shy.

Mikey.
