Well done to the Darwen End boys

Whenever a club reviews its ticket prices at the start of every season a normal club would go and try and drip as much as possible out of fans.

But Blackburn Rovers have not gone down that route.

The low price ticket policy has worked a treat in all departments. Due to the ‘taking back Ewood’ initiative that was set up at the start of the season, Rovers have seen average attendances boosted and the atmopshere in the ground improve no end to boot! (Fancy that?)

But what is most impressive is that for the first time in a long while, Blackburn have fans on all four sides of ground and even the players have commented how much help it is.

The Darwen End has been reclaimed by the Blue and White, with away fans largely tucked away at the top – where they belong!

The fans in the Darwen End have spent all season trying to raise the roof with a small group called ‘The Darwen End Singing Section’.

I have no idea how the idea came about but by getting the Blackburn End, Riverside Stand and the Darwen End together in voice, the matchday atmosphere has soared and the players benefit.

It is no coincidence that our home form has been the key to success this term and the Darwen End Singing Section has been a big part of that.

So much so that quite a lot of fans I speak to are quite keen to get a piece of the pie and are actively moving to the Darwen End next time out.

Good atmopshere. Check. Loud singers. Check. Improved results. Check.

What was for a long time a running joke is now one of the cult successes at Blackburn Rovers.

Well done the Darwen End Singing Section.
