Each month, you the Vital Blackburn members are given the chance to vote for what you thought was the goal of the month. Where possible you are also given the chance of actually seeing the goal!

Thursday 14th verses RB Salzburg, Bulls Arena, UEFA Cup 1st round 1st Leg (2-2 draw)

His 32nd minute equaliser against the Austrian side with a 20-yard free kick, curled into the top corner leaving goalkeeper Timo Ochs stranded. To see goal click here (50 seconds onwards)

Sunday 17th verses Manchester City, Ewood Park, Premiership (4-2 win)

Such a threat from dead ball situation, this 43rd minute inswinging delivery from wide on the right would evade everyone, including Francis Jeffers, who tried, but failed to get his head to the ball, before nestling in the net. The thought of such an incident occurring must have gone through the Norwegians head as he took the kick but this wouldn’t be his intention if he were honest, a good goal nevertheless. Sunday 17th verses Manchester City, Ewood Park, Premiership (4-2 win)

Maybe not a spectacular goal, but a very cleaver team goal. A quickly taken Shabani Nonda throw would release Gamst Pedersen, his cut back would find the unmarked McCarthy who in the 65th minute steered past Weaver into the corner of the net. To see goal click here (2 minutes 35 seconds onwards)

Sunday 23rd verses Middlesbrough, Riverside Stadium, Premiership (1-0 win)

Robbie Savage “plays for foul.” When taken it finds David Bentley, who`s perfect delivered cross is attacked by Shabani Nonda at the far post getting between two Middlesbrough defenders to opens his Rovers account with a fine header in the 27th minute. To see goal click here (35 seconds onwards)

Thursday 28th verses RB Salzburg, Ewood Park, UEFA Cup 1st round 2nd Leg (2-0 win)

The instrumental Tugay’s through ball found McCarthy who worked himself some space, turning his defender with ease before beating Timo Ochs at this near post in the 32nd minute from the edge of the area with his drilled shot along the ground into the left corner. To see goal click here

David Bentley
Thursday 28th verses RB Salzburg, Ewood Park, UEFA Cup 1st round 2nd Leg (2-0 win)

Shabani Nonda won his header out near the touchline which fell to David Bentley. The England U21 International midfielder, who from 35-yards chested the ball down before volleying high into the top left hand corner for a fantastic goal to secure Rovers’ UEFA Cup win in the 56th minute.
