Former Cardiff City winger Craig Conway has said (unlike Tom Cairney who left for Fulham with others likely to move on too) he doesn’t with to leave Blackburn Rovers anytime soon.

The Scottish International is another of those that could leave Ewood Park this summer, however, he’s said that this isn’t something he’s looking for as he’s settled with Rovers and wants to stay at Ewood as long as possible.

With Conway only having a year left on the two-and-a-half-year contract he signed when we brought him in from Cardiff we’ll need this extended, however, will a new offer be forthcoming??

Conway told The Lancashire Telegraph: “Me and my family are really happy here, we’re really settled, we`ve bought a house, and everything has gone really well.

“I’ve got a year left but I want to stay here as long as I can because I’m really enjoying it.

I’m always happy to hear players saying such things, however, what the thirty-year-old wants and what Conway gets might not be the same things as Cairney wasn’t looking to leave Rovers was he but Venky’s took the chance to cash in on him for a mere £3.5million!!

The loss (and I was shocked to come back from a holiday to see him sold) of Cairney is something that did disappointed Conway but he’s been in the game for long enough now to know this is football for you and he feels that we’ll manage without him.

Adding: “Tom’s a top player who did really well for us and was a calming influence on the ball. But, at the end of the day, that’s football, other teams will go after good players. It’s happened to us but we need to get on with it.

“We’ve got a lot of good players left in the squad and, as I say, that’s football, people leave clubs and people join clubs, so we’ll see what we can do.

I’ll completely agree with Conway’s thoughts as long as we don’t lose too many more of our best players!! Which isn’t something I’m that optimistic about being the case before the season begins let alone when the Summer Transfer Window closes!!

This is from a very optimistic person usually so I hope I’m wrong.
