Blackburn Rovers chairman John Williams has refuted media claims that contract negations with David Bentley has been put on hold, if not ended insisting that these are still ongoing.

Despite contract negotiations opening back in February, nothing has been agreed, however, Bentley does still have three-years to run on his current contract. Williams insists that talks are ongoing and even if they do not continue as he is under contract he has once again stated that Bents’ position with Rovers WILL NOT alter, he will remain at Ewood Park even if Chelsea and Liverpool are interested.

Williams told the Lancashire Telegraph: “There`s no change.

“Talks are ongoing, but Mark (Hughes) has said many times that if David doesn’t sign a new contract then he still remains a player at this club
