Williams To Finalise Rovers Takeover

Blackburn Rovers have been the subject of a protracted takeover for several months, this COULD be about to come to a dramatic climax with Rovers Manager Mark Hughes handed big money to spend?

Dan Williams appeared to be the leading candidate to take over Rovers, but even though talk may have gone quite on a Rovers takeover (in public anyway) behind closed doors discussion have carried on (as were always going to be the case) as a proposed deal was hopefully thrashed out. These things ALWAYS take time, and although it may have seemed to have taken an extra long time it has been vital to ENSURE the best for Rovers comes out of ANY takeover.

Reports (in the Daily Mirror) on Tuesday were that Williams has laid down his £45 million offer to buy the club, and is just waiting for the answer for the Walker Trusties. However, he is scheduled to fly in from his American base later this week to hopefully tie up the lose ends of the deal ahead of the close of the summer transfer window.

Should he tie up the deal then he will clear Rovers debts (understood to be £20 million) and will then, as a stipulation of ANY DEAL have to ensure that money is invested in the club (which has been raised by Williams, and his Nuttall Investment group over the last few weeks, with OTHER investors also in place!) that enables Hughes to invest this in NEW players, and it is also understood that he will in actual fact hand Sparky a £25 million kitty to spend BEFORE the close of the current transfer window!!!

IF (the big if!!!) this can go through Williams will be installed as they new Rovers chairman, however, current chairman John Williams (no relation to Dan) is wanted as part of the new board, and is believed to have a MAJOR role to play in the club.
