This Wolves boss is of course Paul Lambert – the man who was at Blackburn prior to Owen Coyle’s appointment in the summer.

Ben Marshall’s Blackburn future remains uncertain. However, as his contract ends in the summer and there’s no sign of a new deal I think we could safely say he’ll leave Ewood Park. It’s just a case of when and not if!

Recently it was reported Wolves had a strong interest with Lambert looking to work with Marshall again. It was then claimed the midfielder WOULD stay at Ewood until the end of the season – thus keeping his options open and leaving on a free next summer.

Lambert has been asked about his interest in the 25 year old – saying it wouldn’t be fair to comment on a player from another club. However, he’s not ruled out an interest.

The former Blackburn boss was quoted by the Express & Star, via the Lancashire Telegraph as saying.

‘I know Ben really well. He`s Blackburn`s player and I know his contract is up (next summer) and all of those things. It`s unfair to be talking about somebody`s player.’

The Lancashire Telegraph report also said Blackburn would be holding out for a fee in the region of £1.5m for Marshall in January. Well, it now appears it could be that or nothing!
