With Blackburn Rovers already on their worst run of Premiership form in almost 16-months prior to Saturday’s game, defeat by Manchester United ensured we achieved our worst run in THREE-YEARS

But achieved implies something good, so maybe achieved is a wrong choice of words! Anyway Saturday’s 1-0 defeat to United thanks to Louis Saha’s goal, also our first defeat to United in the Premiership since November 2003 condemned us to our worse run since then.

The last time we lost more than three consecutive Premiership games came under Graeme Souness between 28th September and 2nd November 2003 when we lost five consecutive matches, Saturday’s made it FOUR straight Premiership defeats.

Our run then saw a 2-0 home defeat to Fulham, 2-1 away defeat to Leeds United, 1-0 home defeat to Charlton Athletic, 2-0 away defeat to Southampton finished with a 2-0 away defeat to Leicester City. The run that time ended with a 2-1 home win over Everton, which was then followed by a 3-1 defeat to United (the last time they beat us in the League!)

During that spell we scored one goal, which is all we have managed so far in our latest run! ONE thing that we should take heart from is the last time we lost to United we followed this up with a 1-0 VICTORY over Tottenham Hotspur, our weekend opponents…
