Rovers have bid farewell to last seasons leading scorer Yakubu after he completed his move to Chinese side Guangzhou for £1 million.
Yak leaves after one season but is one of the few to actually leave with credit from a dreadful campaign last time out after netting 18 goals in a stellar campaign.
Meanwhile goalkeeper Paul Robinson is set for a move to Beskitas in Turkey after being another to make it clear he can’t face playing in the Championship.
The move will represent Paul’s first move abroad in football – but he should be praised for being one of the players to actually embrace the fans last season at a difficult time.
Robinson’s departure should free up the number one shirt for long time number two Mark Bunn.
