Zurab Khizanishvili is ready to sign for Gareth Southgate’s Middlesbrough on loan when the Football League loan window re-opens today.

The underrated Georgian hs been told he can leave Ewood if a suitable move for both parties can be agreed. For the time being a temporary move will help The Monk get some regular first team action and for Rovers it will get him off the payroll.

Boro and Rovers are in dialogue for the move and Khiza apparently seems keen to make the move the move to get some games as he continues to be fourth choice centre back behind Ryan Nelsen, Chris Samba and Gael Givet.

Rovers are well known to be under pressure to ease financial pressure and Khizanishvili is one of those players that falls under the bracket of ‘good but expendable’.

Furthermore Zurab has always been a better player that I feel many give him credit for – it will be a good move Boro and I doubt many Rovers fans will begrudge Khiza a move to help him get some games.
