Having already received numerous International call-ups last week Jonathan Douglas has become the latest in a string on Rovers globetrotters. Following the withdrawal of several key members Douglas has been drafted into the Republic of Ireland squad for this week`s friendly encounter with Holland.

Douglas (becoming the 16th Rover called up for International duty this week) who has featured in Rovers` pre-season games following his successful loan spell with Leeds United last season will be hoping to add to the caps he has already won for Ireland, his first coming in 2004 in a game with Poland.

The number of call-ups would increase yet further with Keith Treacy and Eddie Nolan handed U19 call-ups with Northern Ireland.

Although good for the club as it proves quality runs throughout the squad, it isn`t to the liking of Mark Hughes, as he feels with the season fast approaching the timing isn`t right, he would tell the official club website.

We’ve got a lot of guys going away on duty, like everyone we are hoping that our people come back unscathed.”
