Blackburn go into Christmas off the back of a defeat, Paul Lambert’s first as Rovers boss with Brian McDermott on the other hand marking his Reading return with a win.

Lambert didn’t think he could ‘have asked for any more’ this was a game, in the first half he felt Blackburn ‘dominated the game’ but you can have a game like that when ‘you don’t get anything from it.’

This was a game that took something special to win it with him saying Blackburn were ‘beaten by a wonder goal, a terrific strike. Not many goalkeepers would’ve got anywhere near that.’

It might be his first defeat, but whatever the outcome his mindset for the next one is the same with it ‘important you treat it (the next) the same’ with this one ‘before you know it’ here.
