Craig Bellamy HAS agreed terms with West Ham United but a deal HASN’T been completed just yet! So could Blackburn Rovers still nip in and get him?

27-year-old Welsh International Bellamy has agreed a £7.5 million move from Liverpool to West Ham and passed a medical but an issue with Bellamy and Liverpool is holding up his move; but this should come too late for Rovers to mount a late charge, surely?!?!

The Official West Ham United Website (www.whufc.com) said:

Following comments attributed to Liverpool manager Rafael Benitez today, West Ham United would like to make it clear that Craig Bellamy has not yet completed a move to Upton Park.

“The deal has been delayed due to a private contractual issue between Craig Bellamy and Liverpool, which must be resolved before any transfer can be completed.

“The player is due to meet with Liverpool on Monday morning, and we expect to complete the transfer soon after

  • Personally I have never been fully for a Bellers return, but nor have I been fully against it. However, for £7.5 million that would not have been too bad really would it?!?!
It is too late though surely, the Hammered look CERTAIN to get him now???

  • I reckon it is all sorted but Hughes has doen this before hasn’t he. Similarities could be drawn with the Dunn deal!?!? I doubt we will move for him though but that hold up could be us!

  • Doesn’t he cost more than what Liverpool payed yez for him?and he is on 75 k a week. Why on earth would you want him?

  • roversman – You never know dude?!?!
Pking – That’s true, he is leaving for more than we got for him when we sold him, but he only went so cheaply at the time due to a contract clause didn’t he, without that Liverpool would have either not got him or would have paid a HELL of a lot more.
I wanted him back if the price was right, and £7.5 million would not have been that bad.

  • let’s not get our hopes but – if we were willing to match WH’s offer then perhaps he would have already been on his way here. I just see it happening and if Benni stays do we need both of them?

  • I wouldn’t want us to offer 70k oer week wages – that is ridiculous.
I think paying a playing like Bellers that sort of money will only make him more arrogant. Time to move on to a another target.

  • Paying more than we sold him for, when he hasn’t played/done anything to warrant a higher transfer fee, would be bad business. I wouldn’t object to his pace/arrogance in the forward line, and I could see him and McCarthy working well. Defences would play deep, which would mean McCarthy would be onside most of the time, and 15-20 goals each wouldn’t be out of the question. But as I said in the opening statement, buying someone for more money than we sold him, would be bad business.

  • IT is over. Bellamy will go to West Ham. Its a case of missing out but I am sure old Sparky has something up his sleeve. I dont think we could afford £70,00 wages though!!!!

  • Our loss was when he went. Once he had left there was no good to be gained by him coming back. It seldom works that way.

  • GREAT point dude, I often say this when players are looknig like returning, or do return (fingers crossed Dunny can kick on this season and prove this wrong?!?!)

  • I dont think I need to say what I hope will happen. We should break the bank for him as he and Benni would be something else next season!

  • I’ve been unsure all summer as to whether or not Benni and Bellers actually would be something else?!?! I’m not so sure about a pairning of the two two be honest, just something about it just doesn’t seem to work?

  • Disappointed the club did’nt make more of an effort to sign him to be honest but who knows, it might be for the best. £7.5 million was less than I expected him to go for but no doubt though that Sparky has other targets in mind.

  • It’s not just the fee though is it, it was the wages too £70,000 per week is ******** ludicrous!!! Having said that, would he have agreed to a lot less here?!?!

  • That is the $1,000,000 question is’nt it. But why did’nt we find out, I mean we did’nt even match West Ham’s bid and enter into negotiations with Bellamy. I’d be a lot happier if I knew that it was just down to wages because your right £70,000 per week is crazy. But I get the feeling the club just did’nt fancy him in the end.

  • To a degree I understand if the club didn’t fancy him again. You never know maybe we did make a move but it wasn’t to be?!?! I guess we’ll find out when his eventual autobiography (entitled “Hammered” no doubt LOL!) comes out!!!
