Rovers striker Leon Best has been given a reprieve at Blackburn Rovers after apologising for his criticism of team selection via his Instagram account.

Best and Bowyer had a falling out prior to the game against Doncaster a few weeks back and his comments via the social media photograph service led to an internal disciplinary matter counting against Best.

But after saying sorry and being dealt with behind closed doors the player is now ready to return to action and could even be chucked straight back into things today against the in form Terriers.

“It`s been dealt with internally,’ Bowyer told the Lancashire Telegraph.

“Leon has apologised to the staff and to the players for the comments.

“We`re all mature enough to forgive and forget and get on with it and that`s what we`ve done.

“Besty had a tough year with his injury and he was frustrated because he wanted to play.

“Now, if he gets his opportunity, he should go and take his frustration out on Huddersfield.”

The return will come as a welcome boost with Rovers short of striker cover and having failed to name a dedicated striker on the bench in the last two fixtures.
