Big Sam Allardyce is fearing that Guti may not wait for his move to Ewood Park.

The thinking from Ewood Park is that they need a striker as a number one priority, then go for Guti if enough money is left.

But the problem is that finding a good striker with limited money is hard – and Guti may not hang around kicking his heels.

It is now known that Michel Salgado has sold Blackburn to Guti and he is game to come here, but only time will tell how long he will face uncertainty.

Big Sam speaking to the Lancashire Telegraph said – “Guti would be a player we would like to sign there is no doubt about that.

‘It has been fronted by Michel Salgado and it has been outstanding that a player like that would like to come to Blackburn.

“But a player in his position is not the priority at the moment.

‘One of the stumbling blocks for me is the priority is a frontman and I am not so sure Mr Guti could wait for us to find a front man and see where we go from there.

“But that is the key thing for us to sign a front man and then look elsewhere after that.”

Come on Sam! Step it up, a move for Guti will increase those season ticket sales!

  • Me too mate, this would be an awesome signing. Guti can play off the frontman which is what Allardyce will do next season so he is as good as a striker. I understand the priority but when was the last time Rovers had a chance to sign a REAL world class player? Come on Sam get him in!

  • just get him in.. then if we can’t find a striker, get on the old dog n’ bone to your pal fergie n bring Wellbeck or Machada in on loan…

  • I could see a Macheda loan working a lot better than a Di Santo loan because of the type of player he is. I don’t see it happening though although I wouldn’t complain…not just cause he is Italian 😛

  • Don’t see any sense in this at all… Surely if we get the likes of Guti in we should have a better chance of attracting a decent striker. I do like the sound of another loan striker deal as well.

  • guti > striker! plus with kallinic set to make a big impact next year doesnt that mean our striker situation wont be as bad?
