The votes have been cast and after being given the option of these six Rovers goals for February?

Morten Gamst Pedersen
Saturday 3rd verses Sheffield United, Ewood Park, Premiership (2-1 win)
A trademark Morten Gamst Pedersen free kick deep into injury time left Sheffield United keeper Paddy Kenny rooted to the spot as he could only look on in horror as it flew past him into the top corner from fully 25-yards plus. Gamst Pedersen lifted the ball up and over the wall to perfection! To see goal click here

David Bentley
Wednesday 14th verses Bayer Leverkusen, Bay Arena, UEFA Cup (3-2 defeat)
A tremendous 25-30-yard free kick from David Bentley flew into the Bayer Leverkusen net to bring Rovers back to 1-1 at the time. The free kick did go in via the aid of a deflection but would the goalkeeper have saved it anyway? Unfortunately I couldn’t find a video clip of this goal.

Shabani Nonda
Wednesday 14th verses Bayer Leverkusen, Bay Arena, UEFA Cup (3-2 defeat)
With time running out and Rovers 3-1 down we desperately needed a goal and up stepped Shabani Nonda. On the turn he volley home high into the roof of the net go give us a great chance of progression. Again a deflection helped the ball home but once again would the keeper have saved it anyway? To see goal click here

Shabani Nonda
Sunday 24th verses Portsmouth, Ewood Park, Premiership (3-0 win)
A long ball was headed clear by Sol Campbell, or at least attempted to be headed clear by Campbell. David James came out to try and claim the ball but was beaten to it by Shabani Nonda who hooked the ball beyond James from a tight angle on the volley. To see goal click here (0-40 seconds)

Stephen Warnock
Sunday 24th verses Portsmouth, Ewood Park, Premiership (3-0 win)
Stephen Warnock broke up a Portsmouth attack with the ball finding its way to Matt Derbyshire who played in Shabani Nonda who unselfishly when on a hat trick squared to Warnock who had run the length of the pitch to blast home from six-yards. A fine team goal from one end to the other. To see goal click here (2 minutes 15 seconds – 2 minutes 41 seconds)

Benni McCarthy
Wednesday 28th verses Arsenal, Ewood Park, FA Cup (1-0 win)
The ball forward found Benni McCarthy out on the wing. He carried the ball forward into the area while the Arsenal defence (Phillipe Senderos) backed off and without looking at the goal once rifled home an unstoppable shot into the top corner of the net to seal a dramatic late win. ?you voted in favour of Benni McCarthy with 65%, deciding his strike on Wednesday 28th against Arsenal at Ewood Park in the FA Cup fifth round replay was the best.

The importance of the late strike and quality of it alone made it an obvious winner and rightly so.

So in summary
Pedersen (#2) v Sheff Utd (h) – 22%
Bentley v Leverkusen (a) – 1%
Nonda v Leverkusen (a) – 3%
Nonda (#1) v Portsmouth (h) – 1%
Warnock v Portsmouth (h) – 8%
McCarthy v Arsenal (h) – 65%
