Blackburn v Ipswich – Team News

Saturday might be a meaningless game for Blackburn, in the sense that we can’t finish any higher or lower than we are in the Championship, but for Ipswich they still have plenty riding on it.

Mick McCarthy’s Ipswich side come to Ewood Park knowing that a point would be enough to secure a play-off spot, something that we had hoped would be a position we would be in but it wasn’t to be and this failure means that it’s highly likely that we’ll see the last of several players at Ewood Park in Blackburn shirts tomorrow as a result….

One definitely playing at Ewood Park, for us anyway, for the final time is David Dunn after it was announced this week that he was leaving the club so it’ll be an emotional farewell.

Ipswich loanee Paul Taylor (ineligible) has to sit out along with the injured Grant Hanley (calf), Matt Kilgallon (thigh) and Alex Baptiste (hamstring).

The likes of Jordan Rhodes, against a former side, and Rudy Gestede are almost certainly pulling on a Blackburn shirt for the last time you tend to feel, if they were here next season it would be a major surprise!

Ipswich will be able to call upon Noel Hunt (knee ligament damage) after he made a return sooner than anticipated but Richard Chaplow is doubtful.

A repeat of the one-one draw at Portman Road back in October would be something that Ipswich would happily take at this stage but we’ll be looking to end on a high note.

What way do you see this one going?
