Bouncing Back

Blackburn Rovers (in my honest opinion) made a solid if not spectacular start to the Championship season a week ago.

I can’t quite believe that it’s already a week ago since we started our 2014-2015 Championship season at Ewood Park against Cardiff City, time really doesn’t stand still for anyone does it!! Cardiff started that game living up to their Championship favourites tag but as the game went on Rovers took control and but for a little more luck and a touch more adventurism shown with tactical substitutions we could’ve (and maybe should’ve) won that match, however, a 1-1 draw wasn’t a bad result at all.

Ewood Park was again the setting for our second match when Scunthorpe United were faced in the Capital One Cup, what a disappointment though as we not only lost but lost at a whimper to the League One side 1-0.

The Capital One Cup of course isn’t, and wasn’t, a priority but defeat to a League One side wasn’t meant to happen!! We’ll now be looking to bounce back at Blackpool on Saturday with Gary Bowyer certain to make sweeping changes again with a much better performances and a better result sought at Bloomfield Road.

In my honest opinion Blackpool’s patched together squad will struggle badly this season and are a side (any sort of rivalry aside) that we’ve got to be targeting six points from this season, anything less than a point on Saturday wouldn’t be considered anything like Rovers “bouncing back” would it?? I’m not trying to be disrespectful to Blackpool but they’re a side waiting to be beaten so I’m hopeful we’ll continue our unbeaten Championship run and prove that Tuesday night was just a blip, which everyone has from time to time!!
