Blackburn Rovers were given an FA Cup Third Round tie against Charlton Athletic on Monday Evening when the draw was made on The BBC.

It’s not the most “inspiring” of cup-ties is it, however, it’s a match that we’ve got to feel we’ve got a very good chance of winning but Gary Bowyer knows that it’ll be a tough task that we face against a Charlton side that’s just below us in The Championship. With the match being played at The Valley doubly so.

However, FA Cup progression is something that he’s looking for this season and it’ll be a match he’s looking forward to.

Bowyer told The Official Website: “Charlton at their own ground is a very tough game for us as they have an excellent record at the Valley.

“Obviously we would have preferred a home tie for the fans so soon after Christmas but it is a good game to start the new year and it is a competition we want to do well in to help our cause this season.
