Blackburn suffered a second successive defeat at the weekend when we slumped to defeat at Brentford.

Having got back into the game, on the stroke of half time, it was Brentford that came out better in the second half to eventually run out three-one winners.

Brentford took an early lead through former Blackburn man Jonathan Douglas (16) when he stuck a boot out to turn the ball past Jason Steele, this after Moses Odubajo’s cross had only been half cleared by a poor clearance from Grant Hanley.

Finally Blackburn woke with Ben Marshall forcing Brentford ‘keeper David Button into a save and with half time approaching we finally broke through to level it up at one-one at the break thanks to an acrobatic effort from Rudy Gestede (45) at the end of Craig Conway’s cross.

A statement of intent was fired our way, along with a warning effort, when Jota’s run ended with his effort saved by Steele but the home side didn’t have to wait much longer to see the lead restored. Jota played a part in setting up Andre Gray (55) who, having controlled well, fired home.

Within minute we should have been level, Gestede returned to compliment of the first half to Conway but his header was missed Marshall could only put the rebound against the post, we would be made to pay shortly after….

Jose Ignacio Peleteiro Ramallo, aka Jota (61), went on another run as he eased himself through the Blackburn defence before beating Steele again to seal a three-one win for the hosts.
