Vital Blackburn’s most recent Poll asked, “Defender/Keeper of the Month for April?” You voted in favour of Christopher Samba YET AGAIN!

For the third Month running Samba has made it into the Vital Blackburn Player of the Month poll as the number one ranked defender. By gaining a massive 52% of the vote he advances as a clear Defender of the Month by a country mile!

Brett Emerton’s 25% sees him finish as runner up to the Wall, and as such he also advances to the overall Player of the Month poll taking place later in the week.

Stephen Warnock put up the strongest challenge, but even his 14% could only see him languish back in third, with Ryan Nelsen only gaining 7% and Brad Friedel the final 2%.

So in summary
Brett Emerton – 25%
Brad Friedel – 2%
Ryan Nelsen – 7%
Christopher Samba – 52%
Stephen Warnock – 14%

As the search for April’s Player of the Month continues the current poll is asking, “Midfielder of the Month for April?.” Who will join Christopher Samba & Brett Emerton? You decide.

As for what you think, cast your vote and why not have your say on the latest polls findings?

  • The Admiral (aka GOD!) Ryan Nelsen seems to have been forgotten recently hasn’t he? The Wall is doing a GREAT job but I don’t think we can forget the role the Admiral is playing, surely he deserved more than 7%?!?! As did Bradders his 2%? The Wall was probably a fair months winner but was he really almost a full 50% better than Nelsen?!?!

  • Doesnt matter who stands out in defence, as long as the 4 are working well, keeping clean sheets and giving friedel as little work as possible. As the saying goes, if the defence is solid, then so is the club.

  • Ah statistics. You’ve gotta love ’em – Don’t forget that although it has been a good partnership, and Samba has been fractionally better than the others, as long as everyone thinks that he has been fractionally better, then we get a landslide result giving an unrepresentitive figure. 😉
