Rovers are to be without the services of midfielder Corry Evans, who has been handed an injury setback after an ankle scan revealed a problem that will keep out for the large majority of what is left of 2013.

The Northern Ireland international picked up the ankle knock whilst on duty for his national side and had to sit out Saturday’s loss to Charlton Athletic whilst awaiting results of his scan.

But the news has now come back and it isn’t good, which is just our luck with injuries this season.

Manager Gary Bowyer told the Lancashire Telegraph – “He`s now going to be out, we think, until around Christmas time.

“It`s far more swollen and damaged to the ligament than initially feared and now we just wish him a speedy recovery.

“He`ll be working with a great medical team and they`ll get him back when he`s ready – he won`t be under any pressure.’

Evans injury is offset by the return to fitness (for now) of Lee Williamson and Dickson Etuhu, who are now both available for selection.
