The opening Blackburn match of the 2016-2017 Championship season will be against Norwich City at Ewood Park on Saturday afternoon. A Match Preview will come nearer the time, however, for now it’s over to you!!

Owen Coyle wouldn’t have been a popular choice as Rovers manager, he wasn’t mine!! However, I’ve got to admit he seems to be saying the right things and has brought in some good players. I didn’t anticipate Danny Graham staying no matter who was in charge, for him to lure him back even with cutbacks isn’t bad going with all the signings impressive IMHO.
We’ll need more added to the squad before the Transfer Deadline but we go into the new season with a much better squad than I expected when Paul Lambert decided to walk away. I don’t actually think Lambert did a particularly good job during his time with Rovers, he wasn’t an improvement on Gary Bowyer as such!! Lambert seemed able to use Venky’s as an easy scapegoat to cover his failings!!
Now we look to the future though as Norwich return to the Championship after a season in the Premier League, we’ll want this return to be with a bump as Rovers start with the three points against The Canaries.
Will we achieve this??
